Design

Design, validated before it is built.

We are not a practice that hands a beautiful model to someone else's problem. Every scheme we draw is stress-tested against the crane, the calendar and the cost while it is still a sketch — because that is when changing it is free.

The claim

A drawing is a proposal. A model that survives review is a commitment.

Week 01 — conceptMassing · intent
Validated
Year 03 — constructedAs built

Between those two frames sit ten reviews, four model handovers and one continuous dataset. Nothing was redrawn to get from the left image to the right one.

Philosophy

Good design survives being looked at from ten directions at once.

The dotted shape is a scheme judged on drawing alone. The solid one is the same scheme after it has been run through every lens below. Same architecture — a different building to actually construct.

Integrated workflow

One thread, nine stages, no re-modelling.

Most projects lose their model twice: once between design and planning, once between construction and operation. Ours is the same object all the way down, gaining information at every stage instead of being rebuilt.

01

Sketch

Intent, site logic and massing. Already carrying a rough sense of how it gets built.

02

Parametric Design

The scheme as rules rather than geometry, so options are generated and compared instead of drawn one at a time.

03

BIM

Coordinated model authored to the breakdown that planning and cost will need — zones, pours, systems, phases.

04

Constructability Review

Access, tolerance, sequence, temporary works and trade interfaces reviewed by people who have built.

05

4D Planning

The design tested in time — the review that catches the problems no static model can show.

06

5D Cost Analysis

Quantities and cash flow from the same elements, so a design change and its price arrive together.

07

Digital Twin Preparation

Asset data, naming, classification and QR strategy set during design, not retro-fitted at handover.

08

Construction

The model on site is the model from design, updated with as-built reality rather than replaced by it.

09

Facility Management

Thirty years of operation reading the decisions made in week one — and telling the next project what they cost.

Services

What we are actually engaged to do.

01

Architectural Design

Full scheme design from brief to package — with the construction question asked at every stage rather than at the end of one.

02

BIM Authoring

Discipline models built to a standard the downstream work can use: classified, zoned, phase-aware, quantity-clean.

03

Parametric Design

Grasshopper and Dynamo definitions that turn a design intent into a family of options and a measurable comparison.

04

Design Automation

Our own Revit and Rhino tooling for the repetitive work — sheet setup, naming, parameter sync, model hygiene, exports.

05

Constructability Reviews

A structured pass over someone else's design, returning a marked model and a list of what will be difficult and why.

06

Construction Methodology

How the thing gets built: sequence, temporary works, access, plant, and the drawings and models that explain it.

07

4D Integration

Model linked to programme so the design is reviewed in time. See the 4D page.

08

5D Cost Planning

Quantities and cash flow generated from the model, updated as it changes, reconciled against the estimate.

09

Digital Twin Preparation

Asset data structured during design so the twin opens on day one. See the twin page.

The idea, in one line

Design should be validated before it is built.

Everything else on this site — the twin, the simulation, the pipeline — exists to make that sentence true.

Send us the sketch you are unsure about.

A massing study, a competition scheme, someone else's package — we will tell you what it will cost to build before anyone draws it properly.
